Description of bromelain
Pineapple is natural source for this beneficial supplement that helps our bodies break down proteins and
prevents inflammation. Bromelain, found in pineapple, assists the creation of plasmin, which prevents
swelling and pain. Bromelain also prevents blood clots and is useful for treating heart pain (angina),
enlarged prostate, arthritis, bruising, sinusitis, high blood pressure, menstrual cramps, carpal tunnel
syndrome, poor digestion, varicose veins, tendinitis, and bursitis. Bromelain is a useful supplement for
treating a number of different ailments because of its ability to ease swelling and relax muscles. It is also
recognized as an aid in heart attack and stroke prevention and for smokers who are at risk of blood clots.
Bromelain is available in capsule or tablet form. It should be avoided if you are pregnant, have a clotting
disorder, an enlarged prostate, or are currently taking blood-thinning medications. It is not recommended
for children. There are no identified side effects.
